10.9.09: Iowa Preview

October 9, 2009

brabbsIowa Michigan St Football

It’s almost game day (night!) and the boys are back to give you a complete breakdown of this weekend’s matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes. With the Wolverines playing under the lights in Iowa City, find out who is going to make the difference in the game and who the guys think will ultimately walk away with the win. We also debut our special “fan pick” this week, and if CoachBurk beats us, he’ll win an “All In” towel or a MGoTalk t-shirt/koozie combo.

You’ll notice that this week’s show is a bit different, as all of the breakdown and predictions happen before the halfway point. You may also notice that the color of the site has been changed to Maroon. As part of our commitment to bring you a “unique” perspective on Michigan football, our special guest this week is former Michigan kicker Phil Brabbs, who is currently battling multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in bone marrow. Phil has been in the news recently discussing his fight, and we wanted to bring him on and give him the chance to raise awareness of MM, talk about his own fight and, of course, ask him about his 2002 game winning kick over Washington.

We encourage you to head over to Phil’s blog, MM for Dummies, where he is documenting his fight against MM and is selling his maroon Cancer Kicker “Dominate” bracelets to help raise awareness. Phil’s a true warrior, and we thank him for taking the time to talk with us and look forward to having him back on the show soon.

As always, you can follow us on Twitter (@MGoTalk) and Facebook, and send your thoughts and questions to us at mgotalk@gmail.com. Don’t forget to check out the new MGoTalk store too!
